Cards with close calls on the road; still undefeated
The North Idaho College men's basketball team traveled to Moses Lake, WA to take on Big Bend Community College on Wednesday, January 11. The Cardinals defeated the Vikings 84-78.
Sophomore Julius Mims led the Cardinals with a double-double; 28 points and 19 rebounds. Xavier Bailey also had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Taden King and Brendan Johnson saw double-digit scoring with 17 and 12 respectively.
The Cardinals hosted Walla Walla Community College on Saturday, January 14 and came away with a 100-67 win.
Six Cardinals scored in the double digits: Taden King (20), Kamryn Thomas (17), Cobi Campbell (13), Brendan Johnson (12), Kyle Karstetter (11), and Julius Mims (10). Mims also tallied 15 rebounds for the night.
The North Idaho College men's basketball team traveled to Pendleton, OR to take on Blue Mountain Community College on Monday, January 16. The Cardinals had quite a battle with the Timberwolves as the game went into overtime with a last second shot by Xavier Bailey. The Cards came away with a 94-92 OT victory.
Cobi Campbell led the Cardinals with 21 points, while Julius Mims and Brendan Johnson tallied 19 apiece, teammates Xavier Bailey and Kamryn Thomas each chipped in 11.
The Cardinals are back in action Saturday, January 21 as they travel to Spokane to take on the Sasquatch at 4:00 p.m.
