WOMEN'S SOCCER: Cards lose on late goal from Blue Mountain

In a game that saw the NIC women’s soccer team shoot 27 times, the Cards found themselves ending the game with a loss on Saturday, April 17. Out of the 27 shot attempts, 17 were on frame; giving them a chance to break open the scoring.

In the 83rd minute there was a breakdown on the defensive end, in which Blue Mountain capitalized on the opportunity--ultimately taking a shot and finding its way into the goal .

"The Timberworlves took a good shot that ended up finding the back of the net," said Head Coach Kellsi Parson. "I was proud of the girls; with very little time left they gave everything they had to get the equalizer."

Gabby Eldridge came off the back line and became a forward to help spark the offense. Thirty seconds after the goal went in, Gabby broke through the backline and had a one-on-one opportunity with Blue Mountain’s keeper. The keeper made a great save to give the Timberwolves the win.

The women’s soccer team hosts Columbia Basin College on Wednesday, April 21 at 2:00 p.m.
