The North Idaho College men’s soccer team finished the fall season with a 5-8-4 record overall and had four sophomores sign with NAIA programs over the winter. Though the team did not make it into the playoffs, the team defended well overall—finishing eighth in goals allowed, sixth in goals against average, and seventh in shutouts in the NWAC.
Jacob Luhrs, an NWAC All-Region selection, competed in the all-star game and signed with Corban University—a perennial top 20 NAIA program located in Salem, Oregon. Luhrs has since decided to attend lineman school. Noah Dreves was an All-Region selection for the NWAC in both 2018 and 2019 signed with Corban in January. Kai Flugel, another two-time All-Region selection and a two-year starter at right back signed with Warner Pacific University in Portland, Oregon. NIC’s goalkeeper Isaiah Damschen signed with Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. Damschen, a calm presence in the goal, finished third in the NWAC for fewest goals against and seventh for lowest goals against average.
North Idaho College men’s soccer is planning accordingly with the NWAC to begin season play in March of 2021.
