MEN'S BASKETBALL:Sophomores close out careers with a victory

North Idaho College honored the eleven sophomores on this year’s squad and then closed out the season with a 102-82 victory over Columbia Basin College on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at Christianson Gymnasium.

Nate Pryor led five players in double-figures with a game-high 21 points as the Cardinals ended the year with a 28-1 overall record, and 16-0 record in the East Region of the Northwest Athletic Conference. It was the second-consecutive season that NIC has finished with a perfect 16-0 conference record.

Jaden Dewar continued his fine play with a double-double; 17 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Joey Naccarato, who missed five games due to injury, returned to score 13 points as well as secure seven rebounds. In all, the Cards outrebounded the Hawks 52-28. James Carlson and Christian Guess also scored in double-figures, with 12 and 11 points respectively.

“This group went 59-3 over their two-year careers, that’s pretty special” said Head Coach Corey Symons, who had high praise for his outgoing sophomores.
