MEN'S BASKETBALL: Hot shooting Cardinals run past Timberwolves

North Idaho College used a dominating shooting performance in a 119-77 victory Saturday, Feb. 15 at Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, Oregon. NIC blistered the nets hitting 57% of their field goal attempts, 54% of which were from the three-point line. The Cards improve to 25-1 overall, 13-0 in the NWAC East Region.

Several Cardinals had outstanding shooting performances. Sophomore Jaden Dewar led all scorers hitting 11-13 shots (85%) for a game-high 26 points, sophomore Nate Pryor tossed in 24 points on 10-14 (71%) shooting, sophomore Christian Guess recorded a double-double 21 points and 10 rebounds, sophomore Emmitt Taylor III was 5 of 7 (71%) from beyond the arc and tallied 17 points, while sophomore Marcus Austin was 4-for-5 (80%) ending up with 10 points. Sophomore Phillip Malatare lit up the stat sheet with eight points, nine rebounds, six assists and four steals.

NIC makes the short trip to the Community Colleges of Spokane Wednesday, Feb. 19 for their last road game of the season. The game starts at 7:30 p.m.
