MEN'S BASKETBALL: Cardinals fly high in conference opener

North Idaho College roared out to a 62-35 halftime lead and never looked back in a 107-74 victory over Big Bend Community College on Thursday, Jan. 2 at the Christianson Gymnasium. It was the NWAC season opener for both teams.

Christian Guess made his Cardinal debut a memorable one by scoring a game-high 22 points off the bench. The sophomore transfer from Tallahassee Community College hit 11 of 14 from the field, and was one of four Cards to reach double figures. Sophomore Nate Pryor was lights out as well connecting on eight of nine attempts for his 18 points. Sophomore Yusuf Mohamed added 15 points and sophomore Jaden Dewar added 12 in a reserve role. In all, the Cardinal bench outscored the Viking bench 53-21.

North Idaho travels to Ontario, Oregon Saturday, Jan. 4 to face Treasure Valley Community College for a 3:00 p.m. tip-off.
