WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Lady Cardinals go 3-0 at NWAC Crossover Tournament


The North Idaho College women’s basketball team (4-2) won the Skagit Valley NWAC Crossover Championship game with a 64-57 victory over Chemeketa Community College on Sunday, Dec. 15. The victory sealed a sweep and the title of the round-robin tournament in Mt. Vernon, WA. The Lady Cards defeated Skagit Valley College 59-44 on Friday and Highline Community College 69-40 on Saturday.

Former Lake City standout Halle Eborall earned tournament MVP honors as she averaged 15 points, five rebounds and four steals per game. Sophomore guard Sydnie Peterson earned all-tournament honors averaging 12 points per game while dropping six three-pointers over the weekend. On Sunday, NIC fought back from a four-point deficit at halftime to outscore Chemeketa 37-24 in the second half.

The NIC women's basketball team will travel to Las Vegas Dec. 19-21 for three games against former NJCAA, Region 18 opponents Utah State University Eastern, College of Southern Idaho and Salt Lake Community College.
