WRESTLING: Cards host thrilling tri-meet with Northwest College Wyoming and Clackamas Community College

The North Idaho College wrestling team hosted a tri-meet in Christianson Gymnasium on Friday, Nov. 22. NIC had the opportunity to wrestle old rival, Northwest College, in a battle for the Moose Trophy. Afterward, NIC got a chance to face off against the defending national champions — Clackamas Community College.

In the first dual, the Cardinals defeated the Trappers of Northwest College 43-8. Sal Silva (149) and Isaac Gomez (184) scored falls for the Cards while Alan Badley (174) had a technical fall. Overall, the Cardinals walked away with a win (43-8) as well as the Moose Trophy. A full box score of this match can be found here.

In the second dual of the night, the Cards went back and forth with Clackamas. The match saw six lead changes between the teams and in the final match of the night the dual decided in favor of the Cougars, 22-20.

Isaac Lopez (125) defeated Clackamas’ Eddie Daniel Jr. with a score of 7-4 and is still undefeated this season. Salvador Silva (149) scored a second pin on the night over Clackamas’ Gregory Guzman. Jacob Swift (157) had a technical fall and Hunter Gregerson (197) had an OT victory. Box score results against Clackamas can be found here.
