VOLLEYBALL: Cardinals finish undefeated in conference play

The Cardinals traveled to Ontario, Oregon on Friday, Nov. 8 for their last conference game against the Chukars of Treasure Valley Community College. The Cardinals put the pressure on the Chukars from the start and managed to sweep TVCC in three sets. Journey Tupea had an outstanding game as she led the Cardinals with 20 kills and continued to lead the pack the entire night. Kynzey Mitzel led in digs with 13, and Hokulea Vargas finished the night off with 37 assists.

“I’m very proud of the girls and how they took care of business from the start. The team was very calm and collective; they were focused on one rally at a time. It was a great game to end the conference with,” said NIC Volleyball Head Coach Kelsey Stanley.

Cardinals will leave on Wednesday, Nov. 20 for the NWAC Championship Tournament in Tacoma, Washington. The Cardinals’ first match will against Tacoma Community College on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 4:30pm.

Go Cardinals!

Final scores: 25-21, 25-13, 25-20
