VOLLEYBALL: Cards come back to take down Vikings

The NIC volleyball team traveled to Moses Lake Saturday, beating the Big Bend Community College Vikings Saturday 3-1.

The Cardinals struggled to get any momentum the entire night. The Cardinals showed low energy and lost the first set. With Journey Tupea leading, the Cardinals were able to pull together three close matches with the Vikings to get the Win.

“We did not do a good job of coming off the bus and being prepared to play. We took Big Bend for granted and found ourselves back on our heels the whole game,” said NIC Head Volleyball Coach Kelsey Stanley.  “The girls will have to learn quickly how to play somewhere else besides on our home court in front of our crowd.”

Tupea led the team in kills with 13. Chloe Knudson and Kynzey Mitzel both contributed from the back row with 22 digs each.

Final Scores: 20-25, 25-14, 25-20, 25-18
