VOLLEYBALL: The Cardinals take the win over the Chukars at Homecoming

The NIC volleyball team matched up against the number 6 overall, Treasure Valley Community College, on Friday, Oct. 11 for NIC’s Homecoming week. The Cardinals jumped off to a great start in set one and two with the middles making huge plays and many touches off the block for the Cardinals to utilize and score off of.

After the second set, the Cardinals saw a little taste of the Chukars’ feisty and aggressive play, losing the third set. The Cardinals finished by taking the fourth set and walked away with the win.

“We were hot and cold today. Hannah McPhetridge and Kameryn Reynolds had a great game for us and were the ones to put the ball down when we needed it the most. Treasure Valley is a very good team and I expect that when we go play them on their home court that it will not be easy,” said Volleyball Head Coach Kelsey Stanley.

NIC travels to Big Bend Community College for a 2 p.m. start on Saturday, Oct. 12.

Final scores: 25-17, 25-11, 21-25, 25-22
