WOMEN’S GOLF: Cardinal Women take Fourth at Lilac Collegiate

The NIC women took fourth place at the Lilac Collegiate which concluded on Tuesday afternoon at MeadowWood Golf Course in Liberty Lake, Wash.

The women finished with a two-day team total of 682, which put them ahead of the two other NWAC schools in the tourney (Spokane Community College and Columbia Basin College), but couldn't quite catch the four-year schools.

Sophomore Zoyee Thomas led the way for the Cardinals with rounds of 79-84; and sophomore Jessey Symons was close behind with rounds of 83-81.

“It was great to see Zoyee play like I know she can," said Head Golf Coach Russell Grove. “She was out for half the season last year rehabbing a surgery, which I know took a toll on her and her game. So, to come out this week and shoot 79 was great to see and I was super happy for her."

The Cardinals have a week off then head to Olympia for the first NWAC league match of the year.
