WOMEN’S SOCCER: NIC draws with undefeated Columbia Basin College on the road

NIC and Columbia Basin College played a defensive game on Saturday, Sept. 28 in Pasco, WA with minimal shots taken by either school. A great free-kick was taken by Cidney Bauwens that found Sofia Schnepf on the back post for a goal but the score was called back for Schnepf being offsides.

With twenty minutes to go, the game became physical and many yellow cards were handed out. The Cardinals played with only ten players on the field for the final ten minutes of the game as a result of Maya Lewis being ejected from the game with a red card. Although the Cardinals were down to ten players, the girls played great defense to secure a tie keeping them in the playoff picture.

Keeper Kaysha Bailey took control in the goal. She had great saves and adds another shut out to her career.

The girls will host Spokane Falls Community College next Saturday, Oct. 5 at noon.
