WOMEN’S SOCCER: Stewart leads women’s soccer past BMCC 7-0

Sophomore Autumn Stewart led the Cardinal women past Blue Mountain Community College 7-0 on Sept. 20 in Pendleton, Oregon. Stewart scored three of the seven goals for the Cardinals.

Riley Klauss got the scoring going in the first 30 seconds with a goal that sailed right above the keeper’s hands into the back of the net. In the 26th minute, Emmaleah Allen took a free kick that bent into the upper left-hand corner for her first goal of the season.

Going into the second half leading 3-0, the Cardinals went into a possession game that helped lead to four goals in the second half. Two of Stewart’s three goals came in the second half. Sydney Moore and Maya Lewis each scored a goal, and Kaysha Bailey, a sophomore from Lewiston, Idaho, and Hailee Mize, a freshman from Caldwell, Idaho, combined for a shutout.

The women’s team will be back in action on Sept. 21 against Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Oregon. The game is set to start at noon Mountain Time.
