VOLLEYBALL: Cards sweep Hawks in three matches


The NIC volleyball team took on Columbia Basin College Wednesday in Pasco, Wash. Cardinals jumped off to a great start and kept the lead and momentum the whole game, sweeping the Hawks in three matches.

Journey Tupea led the team with kills having a total of 16. Hokulea Vargas delivered 32 assists and Chloe Knudson was dig leader with 10.

“I’m so proud of the girls and how well they played together. They never once got frazzled, even when we were behind. They remained composed and took care of business,” said NIC Volleyball Head Coach Kelsey Stanley. “We are back home against Walla Walla Friday (Sept. 20).”
