WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: NIC falls to Umpqua in NWAC Tourney


In a first-round match-up between NWAC 6th ranked North Idaho College and 3rd ranked Umpqua Community College, the NIC women’s basketball team lost to UCC, 68-62, on Saturday, March 9, at the NWAC Championship in Everett, WA.  Freshman, Alivia Williams, lead NIC with 20 points while pulling down 7 rebounds.  Sophomore, Heidi Sellmann, added 15 points and 8 rebounds.  Freshman, Keara Simpson, barely missed a double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds.  Freshman, Halle Eborall, lead all players with 4 steals.  NIC struggled from the normally friendly three-point line finishing just 3-28 beyond the arc.  NIC also lost the battle of the boards by a 56-32 margin. 

The freshman heavy North Idaho College Lady Cardinals finish the season 20-9 overall.
