NIC announces All-Star Basketball Game participants

North Idaho College Athletics and the NIC Booster Club have announced the rosters for the Idaho Statewide Basketball All-Star Games presented by Idaho Central Credit Union.

The games are scheduled for Saturday, March 23, at NIC’s Christianson Gym in Coeur d’Alene, with boys and girls basketball players from high schools in the Boise metropolitan area matched against players from the rest of the state. The competition begins with the girls’ game at 1 p.m. followed by the boys’ game at 3:30 p.m. The event will include a 3-point shooting contest with the girls competing against the boys and a slam-dunk contest between the games. The seniors-only event will be a doubleheader format.

Last year, the Region Girls team defeated the Metro Girls team 87-41, and the Metro Boys team won in a record 144-112 shoot-out over the Region Boys.

The selection committee included representatives from the news media throughout the state. The selection committee selected 12 all-stars for all four teams, with two alternates and coaches for each team. The games are sanctioned by the Idaho High School Activities Association.
