The North Idaho College women’s basketball team put together a complete game and beat Wenatchee Valley College, 73-68, at home on Wednesday, February 13. The Lady Cardinals (17-6, 7-4) are currently ranked fifth in the entire NWAC while the Lady Knights (20-4, 9-2) are ranked second.  Heading into Wednesday night’s game, Wenatchee Valley stood alone on top of the East Region standings. 

Freshman, Alex Carlton, lead the way for NIC with 21 points while hitting 5-9 beyond the three-point line.  Freshman, Keara Simpson, scored 13 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and dished out 5 assists in an all-around superb effort.  Freshman, Alivia Williams, added 13 points and a game high 3 steals.  Sophomore, Heidi Sellmann, was solid around the basket with 11 points and 6 rebounds. 

The Lady Cardinals host Blue Mountain Community College on Saturday, February 16.  Tip-off is at 2:00 PM and is followed by the men’s game.  Both teams then travel to Walla Walla Community College on Monday, February 18 for make-up games previously cancelled because of winter road conditions.  Tip-off is again at 2:00 PM for the women with the men’s game to follow.  All NIC basketball games can be viewed at
