WOMEN'S SOCCER: One play gives Spokane victory

In a very tight game between the number 1 and number 2 teams in the NWAC East Region table, one play early in the second half resulted in a goal for the CC of Spokane Sasquatch and the 1-0 victory over the North Idaho College Cardinals. A ball got passed to Spokane's Megan Wilkinson by Gabby Kennedy just behind the NIC back line, Wilkinson dribbled forward taking on the Cardinals keeper Kaysha Bailey and was able to place the ball out of Bailey's reach to score the goal.

It was a well played game by both teams, NIC had 7 shots on goal and CCS having 9. "It seems like the league title often comes down to this final game between us and Spokane," commented Head Coach Dan Hogan. "It is always a great battle between our two sides making it very exciting to watch!"

NIC finishes the regular season 8-5-5 overall and 8-3-3 in league play. They will host Portland CC in the first round of the NWAC playoffs Wednesday, October 31st. Check the online schedule for the specific time. The winner of that game will travel to Port Angeles, Wash. to play Peninsula College the winner of the North Region.
