WOMEN'S SOCCER: Bailey's performance in goal saves Cardinals

With Kaysha Bailey in goal and a little luck the Cardinals of North Idaho College were able to tie the Sasquatch of the Community Colleges of Spokane. CCS had a much better attack in this game than NIC have 24 shots to NIC's 3, but Bailey stood strong in goal making 11 saves. "We also had a little help from the posts and the crossbar," commented Head Coach Dan Hogan. One of Spokane's shots hit the right post rebounded across the goal mouth to hit the left post and then bounce out in front of goal to be cleared by Cardinal center back, Cidney Bauwens.
In the last 10 minutes NIC finally found some energy and a little possession of the ball and that's when Linnea Pretzer found Zoe Lee with a pass in front of goal, Lee hit a blast on goal, but found a similar result as CCS when her shot hit the underside of the crossbar bounced to the ground and spun away from the goal.

It was one of the most exciting 0-0 ties you will ever see.

NIC has a bye this weekend and travels next Friday and Saturday to play Blue Mountain CC and Treasure Valley CC. The Cardinals are 4-1-2 in league play and in a tie for second with Yakima Valley College behind the CC of Spokane.
