WOMEN'S SOCCER: Cardinals soar over Warriors

The North Idaho College Cardinals exploded for 3 goals in the second half to beat the Walla Walla CC Warriors in Walla Walla. The Cardinals attack was led by Zoe Lee who had 2 goals, Sydney Moore and Ellory Ferris each added a goal. Linnea Pretzer and Sahkora George each had assists.

Lee's first goal started with Emmaleah Allen making a run with the ball from her center back position into the midfield where she split the Warriors' defense with a pass allowing Lee to sprint past the defenders and with a defender along her right side, Lee slotted a left-footed pass into the right side of the goal. Her second goal came in the 64th minute of the game when a cross from George came into the penalty area from the right side of the field. Lee, the WWCC keeper, and a WWCC defender were all meeting at the ball. A Warrior got to the ball first, but her clearance went into the side of Lee's face and then into goal.

The win puts the Cardinals in second place in the NWAC East Region standings with a 4-1 record and 12 points. Spokane is atop the table with a 5-0 record and 15 points. NIC plays at home this Saturday at 12 noon against Columbia Basin College.
