MEN’S BASKETBALL: Pryor, Anderson shine in Cardinals victory


Nate Pryor and Alphonso Anderson each took turns providing the spark as #1 NWAC-ranked North Idaho College (20-2,9-0) knocked off host Treasure Valley (8-12,6-4) 97-89 Saturday afternoon in Ontario, Oregon.

Anderson took charge early, scoring 14 of his 26 points in the first 20 minutes as the Cards led 42-35 at the break. The Utah State signee finished 8-14 from the field, 9 of 9 from the free throw line. Then, it was Pryor’s turn. The freshman guard and University of Washington commit, poured in 21 of his game-high 28 points in the final 20 minutes. Pryor hit 11 of 19 from the floor and also handed out 7 assists. Other’s in double-figures include Jared Greene. The sophomore recorded a double-double, 12 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. In all, the Cardinals outrebounded the Chukars 49-26. One noteworthy stat. Guard RayQuan Evans continued his double-digit scoring spree with 12 points. The sophomore has hit double figures in all 22 games this season.

Afterwards, Head Coach Corey Symons said, “We turned the ball over way too many times (21), but hey, it’s always a battle here. This was a good road victory.”
