MEN'S BASKETBALL: Anderson powers Cardinals to victory


Coaches challenged Alphonso Anderson prior to Wednesday’s contest at Wenatchee Valley to be more aggressive inside. Message received! The sophomore responded with career-highs in points (33) and rebounds (24) in a 110-85 victory over the Knights. It was the fifth consecutive game and the 10th time this season in which NIC has scored 100 or more points. Anderson had plenty of help. RayQuan Evans added a double-double, 18 points and 12 rebounds as the Cardinals (15-2, 4-0) dominated the Knights (8-7,0-4) on the glass 49-22. Freshman guard Nate Pryor just missed a double-double tossing in 22 points while dishing out 9 assists.

After the game, Assistant Coach George Swanson, on the Coach “G” post-game show, said going inside to the “Big-Guard” was the plan:
