WOMEN'S GOLF: Cardinals win SWOC league match, Brown medalist

The Cardinal Women won the SWOC NWAC League Match in exciting fashion during a playoff on Monday at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.  The Cardinals were tied with Spokane after regulation play and both teams went into a sudden death 3 person combined score playoff.  The Cardinals came away with the win on the first playoff hole when Sophomore Mikal Jerman sank a 15 foot birdie putt to give the Cardinals a combined score of even par where Spokane finished two over par.  Sophomore Madi Brown also had an amazing week as she shot 74-76 to win the individual title by 6 shots.  Both Aly Mabey and Mckenna Tinseth also had solid finishes, finishing T10th.  "It was great to see the women win this week," head coach Russell Grove said. "What's even better is they're starting to play well at the right time with the conference championship coming up this weekend.  I know full well the girls have the ability to win easily, it's just a matter of going out there and doing it.  This win should give them great confidence heading into this weekend."

With the win this week the Cardinal women end the regular season in third place.  They head to Yakima, WA this weekend for the post season NWAC Conference Championship tournament at Apple Tree Golf Course.
