SOFTBALL: NIC goes 3-1 on the weekend


The Cardinals swept the Vikings of Big Bend Community College in Friday's doubleheader. In game one, Mckenzie Schaller went 2-4 with 1 RBI. Megan Carver was disciplined at the plate going 1-2 with 1 RBI, and earning 2 walks. Madi Mott earned her 14th win in the circle with 7 strike outs. The Cards earned the victory 5-4. In game two, the Cardinal bats were hot and they outscored the Vikings 20-2 to earn the sweep on the day. In the first inning the Cardinals scored 8 runs, including a 3 run homerun from Kalyna Korok. Ashlyn Winn went 2-2 with back to back 2 run homeruns, and 4 RBI’s. Kayla Moore earned her 12th win in the circle. 

Saturday the Cardinals split with Walla Walla CC. In game one, the Cardinals came out strong to earn the win 11-0. Kalyna Korok went 2-3 with 2 homeruns and 4 RBI’s. Kennedy Anderson went 1-3 with a 3 run homerun in the bottom of the 4th inning. Madi Mott had 5 strike outs on the day earning the win in the circle. In game two the Cardinals fell short with their offense losing 16-3. Megan Carver went 3-3 with a single, 2 homeruns, and 2 RBI’s. 

The Cardinals are on the road this weekend as they travel to Portland, Oregon to play in the NWAC Crossover.
