MEN'S GOLF: NIC wins Bigfoot Invitational

The Cardinals won their first event of the spring which was the Spokane Bigfoot Invitational hosted at The Links G.C. in Post Falls, ID. Yesterday's first round made scoring difficult as the conditions were brutal with it being cold, wet, and windy. The guys ground out a solid round of nine over par, with Sean Langham shooting level par and Todd Henderson and Jesse Henderson shooting 74. After round one the guys were ahead of second place Lewis-Clark State College by two shots.  Round two provided some much easier scoring conditions and as a result scores were lower.  The guys put together a solid second day team total of even par 288 led by Brady Nelson and Todd Henderson both shooting 71.  Their even par finish was enough to hold off Lewis-Clark State who also shot even the second round to take the title by two shots.  Both Sean Langham and Todd Henderson finished T3 individually and Brady Nelson also had a top 10 finish finishing T8.  "I'm proud of the guys," Head Coach Russell Grove said, "I feel like we prepared well for the event and with the first round conditions being how they were the guys really had to grind for every shot, which they did. Today was definitely easier weather wise but the guys executed and did what we needed to do to get the win. Doing what we did today gives me a lot of confidence on what we can do the rest of the spring."
