SOFTBALL: NIC sweeps Warriors


In the East Region series opener, the Cardinals came out strong to sweep the Warriors of Walla Walla Community College. In game one, the Cardinals outscored WWCC 8-0. Jori Kerr hit a solo home run in the top of 5th to lock the Cardinals into a 8 run-rule game in 5 innings. Freshman, Madi Mott threw her first collegiate perfect game with 9 strike-outs. Mott is leading the NWAC in strike outs with 53 total on the season.

In game two, the Cardinals continued their offensive arsenal pushing 14 runs across the plate. Kayla Moore earned her 7th win of the season. Kayla Curtan went 4-4 with 2 RBI's. Megan Carver went 2-3 with 2 RBI's. Megan Carver and Devinne Amesquita hit back to back home runs in the 7th inning to complete the 14-6 victory.

The Cardinals are back in action tomorrow against Big Bend Community College. The start time has been postponed to 2pm due to field conditions.
