WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Lack of defense contributes to loss


The North Idaho College women’s basketball team failed to bring their normal defensive energy to the court and lost to Big Bend Community College 88-85 on Wednesday, February 14.  BBCC connected on 13 three point attempts shooting 44.8% beyond the arc and 51% overall for the game.  They also shot 23/28 (82.1%) from the free throw line as opposed to 7/7 (100%) for NIC.  Sophomore redshirt Shae Logozzo came off the bench to score 23 points for the Lady Cardinals.  Sophomore Whitney Meier and freshman Sydney Hovde added 14 points each.  Hovde led NIC in rebounds and steals with 6 and 5 respectively.  Sophomore Cierra Dvorak led NIC in assists with 7. 

The Lady Cardinals are now 16-8 overall and 7-5 in Eastern Division, NWAC.  They travel to Spokane, WA to take on the Community Colleges of Spokane on Saturday, February 17.  Tip-off is at 2:00 PM and is followed by the men’s game.  All North Idaho College basketball games can be watched  Follow @NICWBBALL on Twitter and Like us on Facebook for continuous coverage of the North Idaho College women’s basketball team.
