WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Lady Cardinals find momentum but fall short


The North Idaho College women’s basketball team returned to playing at the level that earned them a 10-3 record and the #3 ranking in the NWAC only to fall short 101-89 in the final minutes to #2 Walla Walla Community College.  Free throws down the stretch opened up the otherwise tight fought battle.  Five players scored in double figures for the Lady Cardinals.  Sophomore Ronnie Harris led the way with 22 points.  Sophomore Cierra Dvorak was right behind her with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.  Sophomore Whitney Meier scored 14 points while sophomore Lana Berg and freshman Zosha Krupa both added 11 points.  WWCC shot 60% from the three point line connecting on 12 for the game. 

The Lady Cardinals are now 10-7, 1-4 and return to action on Saturday, January 20 when they host the Community Colleges of Spokane at 2:00 PM.  The game will be webcast at  Follow @NICWBBALL on Twitter for continuous coverage of the North Idaho College women’s basketball team.
