MEN'S BASKETBALL: MVP Evans leads Cardinals to victory


RayQuan Evans led four Cardinals in double figures with a game-high 27 points as North Idaho College topped Highline CC 94-76 in the final game of the Holiday Inn Express NWAC Crossover Tournament Tuesday afternoon at Rolly Williams Court.

Evans, who added a game-high 9 rebounds and 4 assists, was tabbed the Tournament’s MVP. Tyler Brimhall, continued his excellent marksmanship, hitting 5 of 9 from beyond the arc for 23 points. The sophomore was also named to the All-Tournament team. Sophomore Aushanti Potts-Woods tossed in 14 points while Freshman post Jared Greene, 3rd in the NWAC in shooting percentage at 63%, continued that trend going 5 of 9 from the field for his 12 points.

“The guys are really starting to find their shots and are settling into their roles,” said Head Coach Corey Symons. “We shot 53% from the field and 50% from the 3-point line (11-22). We’re playing very well heading into the Christmas break.”

The Cards return to action December 28 hosting the annual CDA INN-vitational.
