WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Lady Cardinals battle Umpqua


The North Idaho College Lady Cardinals battled strong but fell to Umpqua Community College 85-80 on Sunday, December 3, in Bellevue, Wash.   In a game with a championship feel, sophomore Cierra Dvorak led NIC with 24 points, 8 assists, 7 steals, and 5 rebounds.  Freshman Sydney Hovde added 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals.   Guards Ronnie Harris and Whitney Meier scored 14 and 11 points respectively.  NIC forced 35 turnovers, but shot only 34.4% for the game. 

The Lady Cardinals return to action on December 15 at the Clackamas Community College NWAC Crossover Tournament where they will take on Whatcom Community College.  The game will be webcast and can be viewed by going to and clicking on the link found on the women’s basketball schedule.  Follow @NICWBBALL on Twitter for continuous coverage of the North Idaho College women’s basketball team.
