VOLLEYBALL: NIC wins two over the weekend

The volleyball team was back on the road again this weekend taking on Blue Mountain Community College and Yakima Valley Community College. The Cardinals first met up with the Timberwolves Friday night. NIC came out slow and lost the first set, then they bounced back and won the second. Hoping to finish the next two games with a win the Cardinals found themselves 2 sets down to the Timberwolves. With a lot of grit and heart the Cardinals fought back to win in 5. "Blue Mountain is a great team. We were worried about playing them all week. We struggled with our serve receive passing which didn't allow us to run the offense and Blue Mountain took advantage of that. Even though we didn't play our best, I was happy with how the girls kept fighting and finished with the win."

The Cardinals than shot over to Yakima Valley Community College where they played Saturday afternoon. NIC came in focused and ready to play and took it to the Yaks in 3 sets. " It was refreshing to see the girls come out ready to play today. After last night's game we made adjustments and did a great job executing," said coach Stanley.

Cardinals are now 11-0 in conference and 21-5 overall.
