WOMEN'S SOCCER: Lee leads the Cardinals to victory

Zoe Lee's two first half goals were all the Cardinals needed to defeat the Yakima Valley CC Yaks in Yakima. Le e picked up a loose ball after it deflected from fellow forward Linnea Pretzer and sped to goal where she beat the Yaks keeper with a shot to the right size of the goal. Her second goal started with a cross from Chelsea Love which found her just outside the penalty area. A big first touch and then a shot was all Lee needed to get the final tally of the game.

NIC's keeper, Kinzie Hunter, had another outstanding game in goal. Four saves on the stat sheet only show part of the story. Hunter came off her line several times to get to through passes by the Yaks before YVCC forwards could get off shots. "Kinzie was definitely 'on' today, commented Head Coach Dan Hogan.

The Cardinals return to  Eisenwinter Field on Wednesday at 1 P.M. for their final home conference of the season against Columbia Basin College.
