MEN'S SOCCER: Cardinals get a tie against Sasquatch

The Cardinals hosted the Community Colleges of Spokane yesterday and fought to a 0-0 tie. Center backs Armando Perez and Abel Lima read the Sasquatch attack consistently throughout the game, coming up with key tackles and limiting shots to predictable angles. Though Luis Hernandez made six saves in the first half, Tanner Sayer’s save on a breakaway may have been the play of the game for the Cardinals. Spokane’s Jesus Meraz Rodriguez broke free up the middle and dribbled right, but Sayer’s decisiveness in getting off his line forced Rodriguez’s shot wide in the final minutes of the game. NIC’s Irvin Angulo came closed in on the goal a few times, but was either called offside by half a step or was half a step off from getting to the ball.

The Cardinals host Treasure Valley Community College on Friday at 4:15pm and Blue Mountain Community College on Saturday at 2:15pm
