WOMEN'S SOCCER: NIC drops one at home

It was a tough day for the Cardinals as they faced off against East Division leaders, Walla Walla CC. On a rainy afternoon, NIC could manage just 1 shot on goal and gave up two, free kick goals to the Warriors.

The first goal was a free kick sent toward the left side of the goal area. NIC's goalkeeper, Kinzie Hunter, made a great effort to get to the cross, but a WWCC player reached the ball with her head a split second before Hunter and headed the ball into goal. Their second goal was a well struck direct free kick that Hunter got her hands on, but the wet conditions kept her from holding onto the ball and it slipped through her fingers. Hunter made several saves including a couple of saves in 1 v 1 situations to keep the Warriors in sight, but NIC's offense did not produce chances like it did last weekend.

NIC is now 2-1 in conference play and 4-3 overall. They travel to Pasco, Wash. to play Columbia Basin College this Saturday at noon.
