WOMEN'S SOCCER: Cardinals triumph over Knights

NIC traveled to Wenatchee and took on the Knights of Wenatchee Valley College. It was the Cardinals second conference match and NIC was lead to victory by freshman forward, Linnea Pretzer's two goals. The scoring was started by Lake City High School product Katey Knaack when she received a pass from Marisol Guerrero at the top, left corner of the penalty area and shot the ball just under the crossbar for her first collegiate goal. The second goal of the match was also started by Guerrero when she crossed the ball from the left flank into the penalty area, Zoe Lee flicked the ball onto the far post and Aunika Capps headed it back into the left side of the goal.

Pretzer got both of her goals in the second half. Capps played a ball through the Knights' defense for Pretzer to run onto and Pretzer slotted the ball to the right of the WVC goalie. Her second goal was a nice volley off another Guerrero cross.

The Cardinals are now 2-0 in conference play and 4-2 overall. They host the Walla Walla CC Warriors on Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. on Eisenwinter Field on the NIC campus.
