WOMEN'S GOLF: The Cardinals win CBC NWAC league match, while Brown takes Medalist

The North Idaho College Women's Golf team got off to a solid start for the spring season, winning their first tournament this last Monday.  The Columbia Basin College, NWAC League Match was held in Tri Cities, WA at Canyon Lakes GC and Horn Rapids GC. The women finished 13 shots ahead of second place Skagit Valley. Freshman Madi Brown led the Cardinals by taking home individual honors for the event in a playoff.  Brown was tied for first with Lauren Victorino of Walla Walla after 36 holes of competition and won the first playoff hole with a par. Coach Russell Grove said "We were in a weird situation this weekend in the fact that we were supposed to play West Richland GC the second round, but that was switched to Horn Rapids GC at 5:30pm Sunday after the first round at Canyon Lakes.  Therefore the girls weren't able to fully prepare for the course, but I was extremely proud of how they handled it and played second round."

The Cardinals look to keep their winning ways at the second NWAC League Match this spring at Druids Glen GC on April 23rd and 24th.
