SOFTBALL: Cards Split with Yakima Valley


In game one the Cardinals committed 3 defensive errors to allow the Yaks to score 5 runs in the first inning. Starting in the top of the 3rd the Cardinals started to score, but fell short in the 7th inning, dropping the game 6-9. The Cards gave up 5 unearned runs in the contest.

In game two, McKenzie Brittos earned the win in the circle with the score of 6-4. Jamie Yurick went 2-4 while scoring one run and adding an RBI. Kennedy Anderson went 3-4 with an RBI.

The Cardinals are back in action vs. Wenatchee Valley College in a rare Sunday matchup in Wenatchee. With the split the Cards fall to third place in the NWAC East at 7-4, hoping to make up ground on the first place WVCC Knights (13-1 NWAC East, 15-5 overall). Games begin at noon on Sunday, April 9, 2017.
