WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Lady Cardinals Fall in Season Finale

The Lady Cardinals lost another heart breaker in the finale of a season they hope to soon forget, bowing to host Wenatchee Valley Community College, 55-53. In a uncharacteristic low scoring NWAC contest, the Lady Cardinals forced 22 turnovers and got 22 more field goal attempts than WVCC, but were unable to overcome 26% shooting from the field. The Cards shot 18-70 from the field, and only 5-23 from 3 point range. Cierra Dvorak had 17 points and 16 rebounds to lead NIC, and Shayna Allert scored 11 in her final game for the Cards,

In their first season in the NWAC, the Lady Cardinals failed to reach the playoffs and end the season with their first losing record since 2004. The Cards finished 6-10 in the NWAC East Region and 13-14 overall.
