WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Cardinals beat Blue Mountain


The North Idaho College women’s basketball team beat Blue Mountain Community College 79-58 at home on Wednesday, February 22.  All five starters for NIC finished in double digit scoring led by freshman Cierra Dvorak with 28 points.  Dvorak also pulled down seven rebounds and dished out three assists.  Sophomore Charity Marlatt posted a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.  Freshman Gia Sorn was just shy of a double-double herself with 13 points and nine rebounds.  Freshmen guards Kassin Hopkins and Whitney Meier contributed 13 and 10 points respectively while freshman Shelby Jordan led all NIC players with four assists. 

The Lady Cardinals are now 13-12 overall and 6-8 in NWAC Eastern Region play.  They conclude their 2016-2017 home game schedule this Saturday, February 25, when they take on Walla Walla Community College at 2:00 PM.  The men’s game follows at 4:00 PM.  All games can be viewed at
