Lady Cardinals lose to the Warriors

The NIC volleyball team hosted Walla Walla Community College on Saturday. The Warriors are the only team that the Cardinals have lost to in the conference this season. NIC’s 6’2” middle hitter Brooke Bell was out of the lineup due to a family wedding. Regardless, the Cardinals came out with ferocity. Halle Hess had a great match. She had 17 kills, 3 aces, and 18 digs; earning NIC 20 points. Brittany Gay had 46 assists and was aggressive defensively with 20 digs. Julie Staffler had 3 solo blocks and 2 blocking assists. Overall, the Cardinals played very aggressively in a 4 set loss to Walla Walla. The Warriors were a very scrappy defensive team. It was hard for the Cardinals to put a ball down on the opponent’s side of the court. Their libero Wegdahl had 22 digs.

The North Idaho Cardinals travel to Columbia Basin Community College on Wednesday. They face the Hawks at 6pm in Pasco, Washington.
